Korčula is mountainous island located in the southern Dalmatia. On the island there is a town of the same name - Korčula. The Korčula town due to its built - up very similar to Dubrovnik is also called 'little Dubrovnik'.
Korčula is considered the alleged birthplace of Marco Polo. You can find there the house where his family used to live. Other version says that he came from Venice.
Easiest way to get there is from Pelješac peninsula. Small town Orebić is the place where we cought our ferry to Korčula. The journey takes 20 min.
Due to its location, charming character and uncrowded, narrow streets that was one of the most beautiful places we have visited in Croatia.
