This particular kerosene lamp I have found on one of the Oxfordshire carboots, which was redone in the electric version. All of the entire surface of the lamp was covered in rust, and the glass interior was filled with cobs and insect residues. But most importantly, the shape of the lamp was preserved, and the original glass was intact. It looked like the lamp has not been used for ages. Once I gave the glass good polish it looked like new. I left the rust giving the lamp suitability of such 'rustic style'. Inside I installed edison bulb and the entire lamp is connected to the long braided cable.
275 Baby, Western Germany by Feuerhand

Kerosene lamp used in my project is a Germany Baby produced by Feuerhand company which made oil lamps since 1893. Its logo (although a bit blurry now) is still visible on the filler cap. The bulb is surrounded with the preserved in excellent condition fireproof borosilicate glass to be precise Jena Glass manufactured by Schott which produced this type of glass from around 1920.
Fire-resistant borosilicate glass was invented by a German chemist and glass technologist Otto Schott and this very versatile invention quickly spread around the world.
In the years 1918-1938 Feuerhand was the world's largest producer of oil lamps.
It must be noted that the kerosene lamp was invented by the Polish pharmacist, entrepreneur and pioneer of the oil industry Ignacy Lukasiewicz. He played a great role for Polish oil industry what is worth to read here.

Although in the tank of kerosene lamp is very little space but I managed to accomplish something that I wanted to achieve in this project. The filler cap is integrated with a dimmer switch. The principle of its operation is very simple. When the cap is screwed down the lamp is turned on and the light bulb brightened. When the cap is unscrewed the bulb dims entering in the right mood, just in time for the garden party, evening time ;-).
